International students must file taxes whether or not they have a Social Security Number (SSN).

Taxes are filed every year. The normal due date is April 15th; however, that date is subject to change depending upon unforeseen circumstances and is only changed by the Federal Government.

Reasons to File Taxes

  1. If you are receiving a scholarship in excess of the tuition costs
  2. You are employed on the campus
  3. You have worked during the previous year, regardless of whether you are working this year.

If you fall into any of the categories above, you should receive an email from Lindenwood with tax information.

if you do not have a SSN you will be required to complete a W-7 form which will need to be submitted to the Federal Reserve to create an ITIN number for you which you will use to complete your tax filings.
