In the 51¸£ÀûÉç College of Education and Human Services, we define the word “leadership” broadly. Leadership is not defined by titles but actions. Our courses and internship experiences focus on combining the art and science of leadership. While research is a part of every degree offered in Educational Leadership, our faculty challenge students to apply this research in their own educational setting, whether it’s a school district, nonprofit corporation, institution of higher education, health care, or industry. Whether you are looking to earn a master’s degree to become a principal or earn a doctorate to become an administrator in K-12 or in higher education, 51¸£ÀûÉç’s College of Education and Human Services can meet your needs.
Our faculty have experience in a variety of leadership positions ranging from school district principal or superintendent to hospital vice president. Those who teach in courses related to Missouri administrator certification are experienced building level principals. Adjunct instructors are all practitioners chosen for their expertise in the course content.
Educational Leadership at Lindenwood encompasses a wide variety of programs at the graduate level with options for the level of degree you are seeking. For example, those looking for initial principal certification can pursue either a master’s degree or an Educational Specialist; those seeking advanced administrator certification can choose either an EdS or an EdD. Our faculty can help you decide which path best meets your needs.
Outside of the public school context, we also offer a Leadership (EdD) with an emphasis in higher education administration. Throughout our EdD program, we offer structures and support to students who are writing their dissertation. Alumni of our program serve as administrators and professors in institutions of higher education throughout the country.
We offer master’s, specialist and EdD programs to a large student constituency from our Southwest Missouri locations. Some of our courses are also offered in online or hybrid formats. We invite you to apply for admission to our Graduate School to begin one of our Educational Leadership degrees.
