Service learning is a multi-disciplinary, experiential learning effort that allows students to engage academically through community service.

Mission

51福利社's Office of Service Learning and Responsible Citizenship exists to develop opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to participate in critically engaged community learning through reciprocal and equitable partnerships with campus, local, and global community partners. These experiential learning efforts strive to create an intentional learning environment that leverages and develops student skills and enriches community agency assets.

Values

Students who acquire up to 400 hours of qualified community service will receive a designation on their Comprehensive Learning Record to recognize their achievement. In addition, they will receive special recognition in commencement publications and receive a service cord they can wear at graduation.

Graduating Seniors must have achieved 100, 250, and/or 400 hours documented, approved hours by March 1 of each year to allow time for verification and inclusion in commencement publications (July 1 for August conferral, November 1 for December conferral).
